Windchimes Of The Labyrinth
First mounted in 2011 as an educational, experimental piece, Windchimes of the Labyrinth takes a look at mental health from an aged person’s perspective as well as their caretakers who are dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The piece is set in an abstract world with two main female characters, which include Daisy a 22 year old granddaughter and Nana the grandmother who is suffering with the disease.
Throughout the play, Daisy watches Nana’s downward mental spiral and begins to feel overwhelmed with the situations which are presented to her. In the end she is stuck in a position of desperation and helplessness, not knowing where to turn or where to go.
